Role: Script development and storyboarding, voiceover direction and audio editing, illustration, motion
Background: Sage develops Sage 50 Accounting software (formerly Peachtree Accounting). To boost consumer confidence at the point of purchase online, the web marketing team proposed creating a video series to summarize, differentiate and confirm features and functionality for each flavor of Sage 50 software. Each video targets a specific customer persona, from single-user to enterprise-level businesses.

Approach: I sought out and interviewed a strong closing sales lead, and then gathered input from marketing, user experience, product and legal, established a base script, and modified for variations that speak to our four products.
I then directed, recorded, and edited voice-over, working with Sean Chesney, a guy I discovered in our QA department with a great voice and prior broadcasting experience. I edited and added a musical selection by my friend, Pat Strawser. Finally, I roughed out visuals and developed four animated promos in sync with the audio tracks.
The iconic illustrations are mostly original, apart from a few simple modifications to some stock icons to speed up production (screwdriver, wrench, saw, forklift, tractor-trailer, stopwatch and padlock). The line elements drifting in the background and color palette were part of the Sage brand guide.
